Spicy Vines was founded by Crystalyn Hackett, who left her equestrian career to pursue wine in 2011. Inspired by European wines, she reinvented a spiced wine recipe with a California twist. In 2014, she teamed up with winemaker Doug Hackett, combining his 27 years of expertise with her vision. Together, they’ve built a boutique winery in Healdsburg, focusing on minimal intervention and wines that express their true character. Their approach is playful yet respectful of tradition, producing wines that are both approachable and award-winning.

Spicy Vines' winemaking process is hands-on and focused on balance. The team stays closely connected to the vineyard, making informed decisions based on each vineyard's terroir, vine health, and growing conditions. Their minimalist approach ensures wines are pure expressions of their origins, with minimal intervention. They prioritize creativity, often experimenting with unique projects, and work with select, high-quality vineyards to create dynamic, complex wines that reflect each vintage.
